After an initial assessment, parents will also be able to buy into a series of online lessons in core subjects of Numeracy and Literacy until the end of the lockdown period. The intent is to support children’s learning through live tuition to ensure they keep learning and achieve their full potential. Importantly the virtual experience will enable them to mix with other children, providing important social stimulation that is clearly a key part of the school day and a child’s development. The Elms have engaged with two fantastic staff that recently worked at the school. Between them they have over 50 years experience of teaching children of this age group and with a wide range of abilities.

These online lessons involve skills based learning and are designed to complement and support the provision being offered from the child’s school. These online lessons will provide the child with important social interaction with others of their own age, whilst giving parents some respite and support to help them achieve the best for their child during this lockdown.

Sponsored places are available through application to the school. For more information please contact hm@elmsschool.co.uk

“In 2020 we heard many stories about children who did not receive the same opportunities as our own pupils who are continuing to receive an outstanding education from our dedicated teaching staff. There is a strong sense of community at The Elms with teachers and pupils past and present and, without disrupting our normal school day, we think it is right to support the community by offering this service.”
