After careful consideration, the governing body has unanimously determined that the proposals for The Elms that have been developed by the Parent Working Group should be supported. The board has therefore terminated any potential merger discussions with the boards of The Downs and Malvern College, and The Elms will continue in its current form, on its current site.

The Elms community has been reinvigorated in support of the continued independence and location of our school, and the board would like to recognise, and pay tribute to, the extraordinary coalition that has been created by the Parent Working Group.

The extent with which the Elms community has demonstrated its support through contingent financial contributions has been nothing short of remarkable, and the board is extremely pleased that we have now arrived at an outcome which has engendered such an outpouring of commitment for our much-loved institution.
