Welcome Mr Anthony Rendall
We are delighted to be able to let you know that after an extensive and rigorous process we have appointed Anthony Rendall to the position of Deputy Head Pastoral to start in September. We had a vast number of applicants for the post and found it hard to whittle it down. The final day of the process was exhaustive with the four candidates being asked to deliver an assembly, a lesson, have lunch with the children, meet staff, and deliver a presentation to a panel including a member of the Governing body.
All parties were unanimous in their support of Anthony. He delivered an excellent maths lesson, an engaging assembly and staff and children enjoyed meeting him. His presentation displayed not only that he understood and had an affinity for The Elms, but that he has a passion for education and ensuring that children get the most out of their time in prep school.
Anthony has taught at Northcote Lodge Prep School and after three years in London, took a position at Horris Hill. Anthony and his wife, Lucy, ran the Middle School boarding house for six years whilst Anthony was Head of RS. At this point he stepped into the Assistant Headmaster role, until he was appointed Deputy Head, four years ago.
Anthony and Lucy have two boys, Sebastian and Isaac, who will join Year 3 and Year 1 respectively. The family enjoy being outside and the boys love all things sport and game based. Anthony enjoys the countryside and all it offers and will not turn down any offer of sport, coaching football, rugby or cricket! Anthony and Lucy also enjoy music and spending time with their friends.
I am, as you no doubt will be, very excited to be welcoming the Rendall family to The Elms. I am excited about working with Anthony and seeing the impact he will have here. We hope that Anthony, Lucy, Sebastian and Isaac will be able to join us before September to meet The Elms family and we will let you know when that might be.
